Ex Vero I is taken from the lower slopes, Ex Vero II from the middle vineyards and Ex Vero III from the uppermost, featuring rougher and more rocky Opok soils.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEx Vero III S\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003egrapes grow more 300m above the sea level on Opok soil, a fine-grained, calcareous marl and silt typically found in the steep Styrian vineyards. The result of the selected grapes from the steeper and more barren higher slopes is a deep and complex white blend with an exotic and smoky touch!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhilst we haven't tried the 2022 vintage of\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eEx Vero III S\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eyet, we hear it presents\u003cspan\u003e a \u003cb\u003efreshly green \u003c\/b\u003eand \u003cb\u003esmoky nose\u003c\/b\u003e, while it's on the palate that shows more exotic flavours, such as \u003cstrong\u003ekiwi \u003c\/strong\u003eand \u003cstrong\u003epassion fruit\u003c\/strong\u003e, while maintaining a stony and smoky structure. Leave it open up and the smokiness will turn into \u003cstrong\u003enuttiness \u003c\/strong\u003eand \u003cstrong\u003ebreadiness\u003c\/strong\u003e!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA difficult fermentation led to the producer's decision - after a long period of the wine aging on lees - of bottling with a few grams of residual sugar, that amplifies the deepness of the wine!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBrigitte and Ewald Tscheppe from Werlitsch, together with Styrian wine producers Taus, Tscheppe, Muster and Strohmeier, belong to the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e‘Schmecke das Leben’\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e(‘Taste life’) group. \u003cbr\u003eTheir philosophy is about protecting the land, and making authentic and expressive natural wines that stay honest to their roots.
