Cantina Giardino | Wine from Campania
Cantina Giardino is a true passion project - Daniela and Antonio De Gruttola started producing natural wine after having witnessed the devastation inflicted on the land by industrial farming and vinification, which removed old local vines of local varietals.
Today they revitlise such grapes such as Aglianico and Volpe Rosa on old vineyards found in Irpinia, in the hills of Campania and featuring Volcanic soils. Their mission is to revive a cultural winemaking tradition which was disappearing, and in doing so they have produced some amazing natural wines like Drogone, Gaia, Paski, and Glu Glu.

Traditional methods & native grape varieties
Cantina Giardino is situated on 25 hectares of vineyards, positioned approximately 500 meters above sea level. Within these vineyards, you'll find mature vines that are nearly 50 years old. The estate adheres to the principles of organic farming, cultivating exclusively native grape varieties like Aglianico, Fiano, and Greco. From the vineyard to the cellar, Cantina Giardino emphasizes a deeply traditional approach to their winemaking process.
Built on friendship and passion
Cantina Giardino say about themselves: “Ours is a story of friendship, passion for wine and the desire to make a difference.” The winery was officially founded in 2003, but Antonio di Gruttola (the head winemaker) started making experimental wine already five years earlier. The idea was to be able to make wine through spontaneous fermentation, without filtering, without clarifying and without using sulphites. The company consists of several different friends, who all came together because they believed in the principles and the skills of Antonio.
