Rheinhessen | Natural Wine from Rheinhessen
In regards to natural wine, Rheinhessen is a region boasting an impressive array of grape varieties, with a focus on white wine production. Riesling, Silvaner, and Müller-Thurgau are among the most prominent grape varieties grown in Rheinhessen.
It could be argued that the Rheinhessen is home to some of the main German Natural Wine producers, who we sometimes dub "The New German Wave". These are mainly younger producers who have inherited vines from their family and are leading the German natural winew movement having dedicated more time to soil care, sustainable chemical free practices and less intervention in the cellar.
Popular natural wine producers from the Rheinhessen region are Martin Wörner of Marto Wines, Max Dexheimer, Naked Freitag, Moritz Kissinger, Andi Mann, Dominik Held, Vin de LaGamba and Bianka & Daniel Schmitt.
