Domaine Derain is an iconic estate situated in the heart of Burgundy. Formally run by Dominique Derain, after his retirement in 2016, Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab took over the estate but Julien was already working there for many years before as Dominique's right hand man, as well as operating their own Sextant wine project.

Sextant & Domain Derain

Julien Atlaber started working for Burgundy estate Domain Derain, as legend Dominque Derain's right hand man. The two formed a strong friendship, and over the years Julien started to release his own Negoce wines under the name Sextant. Dominque Derain decided to retire, and Julien Altaber now runs the domaine with his wife and partner Carole Schwab. They run both Sextant and Domaine Derain from the same cellar in Saint-Aubin, working with typical Burgundy grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chadonnay and Aligote
