Domaine Derain

Domaine Derain is a legendary estate in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy. Founded by Dominque Derain, Julien Altaber now runs the domaine with his wife and partner Carole Schwab, and interestingly Dominique Derain is also never too far away, still involved in the cellar tastings, even waxing the bottles when not travelling to other vineyards across the world in retirement.

Julien Altaber and Carole also run the winery Sextant from the same cellar. This began as a side project for Julien when he was the right hand man for Dominque Derain over many years before taking over the estate. Now both are run side by side.
