We have just got this in and not tried it yet, but Jas Swan of Katla wines tells us it is a dry orange wine whereby the hand-destemmed grapes of Kerner are placed together with the direct press juice of Riesling, and are sealed off for 2 weeks without oxygen access, creating a fermentation within the directly pressed juice and within the Kerner grapes.
We're told to expect light tannins with an oxidative style of wine featuring notes of brioche, cedar, honey and flowers.
The grapes are sourced from Piri Natural in the Nahe region, grown on clay and sandy soils, and the wine is aged in used Barrique barrels.
