Carre d'Astres 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Romain Verger & Lucie Faderne  of Thio Noots, in the Loire region in France. This white wine is made with 100% Chenin Blanc grapes, grown around Anjou.

Here in Carre d'Astres by Thio Noots, grapes of Chenin Blanc are taken from a high elevation in Faye d'anjou. The vines are around 40-45 years old, grown on mostly schist soils. What's interesting is the very long pressing time, around 7 days, which is quite substantial. This means the press is very gentle and allows for more concentration of fruit in the juice. It then ages in old barrique barrels for around 8 months, and sees no added sulphites (SO2) before bottling.
