Werlitsch - Morillon vom Opok is exactly that, 100% Morillon (Styrian term for Chardonnay) from Opok soils, which are fine-grained, calcareous marl and silt typically found in the steep Styrian vineyards. This wine features both freshness and acidity for a Chardonnay.

Whilst we haven't tried the 2024 vintage of the Morillon yet, we hear it presents deepness and minerality. Next to quince, ripe apple and yeast aromas we can find more subtle toasty and herbal notes.

Brigitte and Ewald Tscheppe from Werlitsch, together with Styrian wine producers Taus, Tscheppe, Muster and Strohmeier, belong to the ‘Schmecke das Leben’ (‘Taste life’) group.
Their philosophy is about protecting the land, and making authentic and expressive natural wines that stay honest to their roots. It’s an invitation to slow down, share a glass, and truly enjoy the moment!

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
