Agade Rosé by Podere Ortica is a natural wine made in Tuscany with Sangiovese grapes.

You might not even guess this is Italian, as it's so different.

We found big herbs dancing with macerated strawberries, raspberry and a pleasant, almost petrol twang which was unexpected. Low acidity and an almost savouryness to it, however, not a style for all. So keep in mind its can be unexpected...

Quite unique and different

Podere Ortica

NATURAL WINES BY PODERE ORTICA

Podere Ortica is a small farm in the province of Arezzo, in eastern Tuscany, where wine has been made since 2015. The property covers around 30 hectares, with 7 hectares of vines and 2 of olive trees, and they also make their own olive oil. Only native Tuscan grapes are grown here: Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino for the reds, and Trebbiano, Malvasia and Biancame for the whites.

The idea is light, low-alcohol wines built for drinking. Grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and fermented with wild yeasts in concrete or steel after short macerations. Winter cold settles the wines before summer bottling, with a little sulphur only when needed. Ati is their Chianti DOCG, Ago a Tuscan red, Ade a white from Trebbiano, Agade a light rosé and 3bbolle a pét-nat. We think all of them drink well above their price.
