Quinto Quarto Sivi is a macerated Pinot Grigio, which gives it a unique colour as the skin of the grape is pink! We found this vintage has notes of blood orange, eucalyptus, cherry, field flowers, a little aniseed and liquorice. Super juicy and complex, and a Rosé in colour.

Franco Terpin is a highly regarded natural winemaker from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of northeastern Italy, directly bordering Slovenia. Terpin's vineyards are located in the rugged hills surrounding the small town of San Floriano del Collio and cover approximately 12 hectares.

Terpin's vineyards are planted with multiple grape varieties, including Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana, Friulano, Pinot Grigio, and Merlot.

The soils in the vineyards are primarily composed of marl and sandstone, which contribute to the unique flavor profiles of Terpin's wines. The vineyards are also influenced by the region's cool climate and proximity to the Adriatic Sea, which provides a moderating influence on the temperature and helps to maintain the acidity and freshness of the grapes.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY FRANCO TERPIN

Franco Terpin farms in Valerisce, a hamlet of San Floriano del Collio in Friuli, right on the Slovenian border. His vines run across both sides of that border near Monte Calvario, on ponca, the local layered marl and sandstone. Franco set up on his own in 1994 with his wife Daniela, and their daughters Sara and Valentina now work with them.

Skin contact is the house style, whites included. The Quinto Quarto line gets around three days on the skins, while Sialis, from 70-year-old vines, gets about two weeks. The wines age in barriques, Slavonian oak or steel, with no added sulphur. We stock Quinto Quarto Sivi, a skin-macerated Pinot Grigio with the colour of a rosé. He is also known for Ribolla Gialla and Jakot, his Friulano, named by spelling Tokaj backwards.
