Montesecondo is a classic style, somewhat rustic natural wine producer from the Tuscany region in Italy, more specifically in the Chianti hills.
Run by Silvio Messana who took over the estate from his father in 1999, the main grapes grown by Montesecondo are Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Colorino, Canaiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon which are grown on a range of soils such as clay, marl and limestone, spit over two distinct locations with one being classified as a Chianti Classico, whilst his style means the others cannot and are simply classed as IGT Toscana.
