Piana dei Sassi by Morasinsi is made in Puglia with Aglianico grapes.

This is an Aglianico Rosé that acts more like a red from Puglia.

This has tannin and south Italian soul, so not an easy Rosé to enjoy on summers days! One for explorers of stronger wines.

No added sulphur. Aged in Concrete.

Production details of Piana dei Sassi: Piana dei Sassi is an Aglianico rosé made by Sveva Sernia and Peter Geier at Agricola Morasinsi in the Alta Murgia of Puglia. Their 10-hectare family farm sits on karstic, calcareous soils rich in organic matter, farmed regeneratively. Hand-harvested in small crates and transported by cart. Wild ferment, with all work tied to a lunar-calendar approach. The wine ages 4 months in microporous concrete vats. No added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Piana dei Sassi by Morasinsi, but we hear it has notes of ripe strawberry, raspberry and a lingering red-fruit lift with south Italian structure.
