Riesling Eule Purus 2024 by German natural wine legend Rudolf Trossen is a natural wine made in Mosel with 100% Riesling grapes.

Production details of Riesling Eule Purus: Riesling Eule Purus comes from Rita and Rudolf Trossen, pioneers of natural Mosel wine who switched to a lunar-calendar approach in 1978. The vines for this cuvée are 100 years old. Grapes are hand-harvested and whole bunches ferment in a 1000-litre wooden tank with wild yeasts. Cooled by ambient air, fermentation runs for 8 months. The wine then ages around 6 months on the lees in barrel. The Purus line has zero added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Riesling Eule Purus by Rudolf Trossen, but we hear it has notes of yellow stone fruit, slate, dried herbs and a deep wild Mosel structure.
