Mathilda 2021 is a natural wine crafted by PIRI Naturel, in the Nahe region in Germany. This white wine is made with Kerner, Riesling and Silvaner grapes.

Production details of Mathilda: Mathilda is made by Christine Pieroth at PIRI Naturel in the Nahe region of Germany. Christine's family has been making wine here since 1781. She split her own line off under the PIRI Naturel label to focus on a lunar-calendar approach and natural methods. The blend uses Kerner, Riesling and Silvaner from vines aged 25 to 35 years on loam and rocky soils at 150-300m elevation. The grapes are picked separately and then partly direct-pressed and partly given 1 night of maceration before blending. The wine ferments and ages partly in tank and partly in used oak on full lees. Bottled in summer with no added sulphur. 11% alcohol, 3000 bottles made.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Mathilda by PIRI Naturel, but we hear it has notes of green apple, banana, white flower, citrus and a touch of unripe tropical fruit.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
