Mtsvane 2019

Tsikhelishvili Wines make their Mtsvane 2019 with 6 months on the skin and an extended 2 years in Qvevri Amphora.

With all Georgian wines, do not serve chilled, and allow to breathe for best results. These wines are stable and should hold a good few days once open, improving greatly with time.

Production details of Mtsvane: Mtsvane is made by Aleksi Tsikhelishvili in Kakheti, eastern Georgia. He learned to cultivate vines from his mother, working without sprays or artificial fertilisers. He produces around 1000 bottles a year across three cuvées in seven big qvevri. The Mtsvane sees 6 months on its skins, then ages for 2 years in qvevri before bottling.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Mtsvane by Tsikhelishvili Wines, but we hear it has notes of stone, underwood, ripe quince and a fragrant, gentle finish.
