Rosatant by Joiseph is a natural wine made in Burgenland with Blaufränkisch grapes.

Production details of Rosatant: Rosatant is a deep rosé of 100% Blaufränkisch from the Joiseph trio in Jois, Burgenland. The grapes grow in the Neuberg vineyard on limestone soils. They are destemmed and stay on the skins for around 12 hours before being pressed directly into barrels for ferment and ageing for about 8 months. 12% alcohol.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Rosatant by Joiseph, but we hear it has notes of cranberry, cherry, watermelon, blood orange and a fine saline lift.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

Joiseph

NATURAL WINES BY JOISEPH

Joiseph was started in 2015 by three friends, viticulturist Richard Artner, Xandl Kagl and winemaker Luka Zeichmann, in Jois at the foot of the Leithaberg, looking over Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland. They began with about one hectare, three pairs of vine shears and some rubber boots, with no cellar or tractor. Today they work a handful of hectares on limestone and slate, dry-farmed and picked by hand, with fruit trees planted between the vines.

Fermentations are spontaneous and sulphur is kept to a small dose. Piroska (Zweigelt, Spätburgunder, Blaufränkisch) and the Mischkultur field blend (Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Neuburger, Traminer, Muskateller) are the easy, great-value bottles. BFF is Blaufränkisch from the Neuberg vineyard, partly whole bunch, and BF Schieferberg is their single-vineyard version. Fogosch, named after the zander in the lake, is Grüner Veltliner with a day on the skins and time in old oak. There is even a cider.
