Lulu is a special natural wine crafted by Justine Loiseau & Patrick Bouju, (Domaine la Boheme) in the Auvergne region in France. This very juicy red wine is made with their own Gamay grapes (actually more specifically Gamay d'Auvergne), which unlike most of the Bouju range is taken from their own domain fruit.

These are old vines, 80 year olds grown on basalt soil. Vinified with semi-carbonique maceration in Qvevri amphora and later aged in oak barrel.

Tastewise, this awesome red features excellent minerality that is very prominent from the volcanic soils it is grown on and amplified from it's Amphora vinification, working great alongside black cherry hits and some delightful spice. An absolute WINNER!

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY PATRICK BOUJU

Patrick Bouju is a big name in the French natural wine world, and along with his partner Justine Loiseau, he tends to about 9 hectares of vines in Auvergne, France. Under the label "Domaine la Bohème," they also source grapes from other growers to create négoce wines, allowing them to expand their lineup beyond their own vineyards in wines like G&M, CC and Mol. This approach gives them room to experiment with lesser-known grape varieties like Mondeuse and Altesse. Bouju’s wines are highly sought after, especially in Germany, France, the U.K., and the U.S. Plus, their domaine wines like Lulu, The Blanc and Caillous age beautifully, making them quite collectible.
