Mash Pitt (Dogma) 2020 by Pittnauer is a natural wine made in Burgenland with Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.

Pittnauer state this orange wine is lively, engaging, complex. Exotic fruit aromas go hand in hand with notes of herbal tea and ripe citrus on the nose. Supported by firming tannins and a vital acidity, it makes its way flush and directly over the palate. Despite a profound body, always remains precise and elegant. Ends cool, straightforward and yellow fruity.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

WHAT IS ORANGE WINE?

Orange wines are actually white wines, but with a different winemaking process - they’re made by fermenting the juice with the grape skins, which is mostly done with red wines, not white. This extra step adds tannins, flavor, and a unique color to the wine.
Because of the skin contact, orange wines tend to have more herbal, aromatic notes, and they can also have a bit of bitterness depending on the grape, how long the skins are left in contact with the juice, and the vessel used for maturation. Unlike most white wines, they can also feature tannins (which are formed from the skins, which white wines do not use). Orange wines are a style that brings out some really interesting flavors that many people adore for their unique properties, whether easy going or complex.
