This Timo Mayer Syrah is an AWESOME WINE that shows the beauty of whole bunch maceration, where stemmyness is a true beauty - this is the best example we ever had!

From AustralianWine.com> A self-proclaimed German farmer with a warm smile and eccentric mind, Timo left the traditional wine region where he was born and raised for Australia’s Yarra Valley.

Over the past couple of decades he’s helped lead the charge for elegant, interesting, complex wines that reflect the Yarra Valley’s cool climate, influencing a generation of young winemakers. These days he’s still pushing boundaries, experimenting with new varieties and throwing convention to the wind.

This one is 100% Syrah taken from his Bloody Hill vineyard, with his usual stalky whole bunch fermention.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY TIMO MAYER

Timo Mayer comes from a long line of winemakers—his family has been making wine in Germany for over 400 years! But instead of following tradition, he took a different path, moving to Yarra Valley, Australia, to create something new.
His wines? Absolutely phenomenal. Easily some of the best we've tasted from Australia. Thanks to his signature whole-bunch maceration, they have a distinctive vegetal character, with a touch of pepper and beautifully refined fruit. Whether it's Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, or Syrah, every bottle is worth it.
