La Musa 2021 is a natural wine crafted by Val Liberata, in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. This classic yet natural 13.5% red wine is made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes, which spend 21 days in cement tanks.

We hear this wine is vibrant and punchy, with smooth tannins and an interesting Nebbiolo experience, slightly different to what could be expected..

Production details of La Musa: La Musa is made by Deirdre O'Brien and Maurizio Caffer at Val Liberata in Villamiroglio, in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont. The Irish-Italian couple have run the farm using a lunar-calendar approach since 2014. The wine is 100% Nebbiolo from 1.5 hectares of clay soils, with a range of clonal types to promote biodiversity. The grapes ferment on the skins for 21 days in cement tanks, then age 11 months. No added sulphur. 13.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of La Musa by Val Liberata, but we hear it has notes of delicate floral lift, red fruit, light smoke and a meaty Nebbiolo edge.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
