La Fleur au Verre Rouge 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Sextant, in the Burgundy region in France. This red wine is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown close to Beaune.
Sextant started as a side project whilst Julien Altaber was the right hand man at the prestigious Domaine Derain founded by his legendary former mentor, Dominque Derain. Julien Altaber now runs Sextant much more professionally than a side hustle, as well as Domain Derain with his wife and partner Carole Schwab in Saint Aubin.
Their Sextant range are in hot demand for being of a great high quality for natural Burgundy, and at better prices than where most of Burgundy wines are heading...
"La Fleur Au Verre" means ‘The Flower in The Glass’ and is a Pinot Noir grown on 30 year old vines. Fresh, fruit forward and unmistakable Burgundian in its slight earthy touch and structure.
Expect blackcurrants, forest floor and a juicy vibrancy on the palate with nice energy, yet precise refined elements.
Drink this red wine with no added sulphites in one sitting.

Who is Sextant in Burgundy?
Juilien Atlaber started working for Domain Derain, as legend Dominque Derain's right hand man. The two formed a strong friendship, and over the years Julien started to release his own Negoce wines under the name Sextant. Dominque Derain decided to retire, and Julien Altaber now runs the domaine with his wife and partner Carole Schwab. They run both Sextant and Domaine Derain from the same cellar in Saint-Aubin.
