EOS 2021 is a rare natural wine crafted by Andro Barnovi Wine Artisans, in the Shida Kartli region in Eastern Georgia.

This rosé wine is made with a blend of two red grapes and two white grape varieties that come from the southern slopes of the Caucasus Mountains. Composted of 70% Chinuri, 14% Pinot Blanc, 8% Shavkapito and 8% Tavkveri grapes, the Chinuri skins were actually removed during fermentation and the wine was aged in Qvevri for 7 months before 12 months in stainless steel tanks and then 3 months in French Oak barrels. Only 550 bottles made!

Elegant and layered, combining fresh red fruit with subtle floral and herbal nuances. The palate is balanced and textured, with lively freshness and a refined, persistent finish.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY WINE ARTISANS

Wine Artisans is the small winery of Andro Barnovi, who came to wine from academia and politics. It is based in Tsedisi in Shida Kartli, in the Ateni area, with further parcels in Kakheti. The vineyards get long hours of sun on limestone-rich clay, with little water after mid-July. There are 15 grape varieties, mainly Chinuri, Goruli Mtsvane, Shavkapito and Tavkveri, plus rarities like Chkapa.

Andro ferments with wild yeasts and adds no sulphur. Many wines spend around seven months on their skins in qvevri, then a long rest in stainless steel, sometimes with a spell in oak. Runs are tiny, often just a few hundred bottles. Many are named after mythological figures: Helios is Goruli Mtsvane, Hecate is Tavkveri and Mithra is a Kakhetian blend of Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi and Khikhvi. Narcissus pairs Chinuri with Muscat.
