Kaamen III 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Vinas Mora, in the Dalmatia region in Croatia. This top end, premium red wine is made with Babić grapes which are up to 100 years old, grown on old bush vines on almost pure limestone ROCK at an altitude of 250 to 300 meters by the sea, and is produced entirely by hand.
The maceration of the Babić grapes lasts four to five days, after which 1/3 of the wine is aged in used 500 litre barrels.
This wine is spectacular, and it comes alive with more depth after some air, so give it a carafe and a swirl whilst you prepare dinner with something else, then come back to it like all soulful reds are best at.
Complex on the get go, with impressions of earth, iron, forest leaves, blackberries, salt, leather, chocolate, stewed plums, rosemary and a lovely, long finish with a mineralic edge. This is a wonderful wine which will only blossom further with age and will make an impression on serious red wine lovers.
