Mar i Muntanya Rouge 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Domaine de L'Horizon, in the Calce region in France, which is close to Domaine Matassa. This red wine is made with 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache grapes.

We hear from the importer that it is dark purple with violet reflections and being aged in concrete and steel, the Mar i Muntanya is a reminiscence of Beaujolais: juicy and boozy with bright fruit, the fine slate spice of Roussillon and the terroir of Calce.

A small amount of whole-cluster fermentation underlines the jovial fruit of black cherries, mulberries and hibiscus. Spicy underpinnings of Mediterranean garrigue and thyme, the top note shimmers with floral notes of hollyhocks and dark tobacco. On the palate with juicy, firm fruit and perfectly defined stature. The fine-grained tannin is supported by its ripe acidity, which gives it a lot of speed.
