Qvevri Q1000 Tartaraci 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Vino di Anna, in the Sicily region in Italy. This red wine is made with Nerello Mascalese and Grenache grapes.

The The Q1000 “Tartaraci” has not been made since 2016 due to difficult conditions on this vineyard, which is 1000 metres above sea level. However, in 2022 the conditions allowed for a small amount of perfectly healthy grapes from the 80 year old vines. The grapes were then destemmed and fermented in qvervi. The qvevri was then closed and the new wine allowed to macerate for a month on skins during which time malolactic fermentation also
occurred. After one month, the macerated grapes were carefully pressed into a
chestnut barrel and left on the lees until bottling early June 2024, without fining or
filtration.

We hear it tastes of plums, cherries, and cranberries, with nice minerality, high acidity, and soft tannins.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
