Ducal work in Podravje, Slovenia, and the thing to know about them is the botrytis. They aim to pick 20% of each grape with noble rot, which puts more sugar into the fermentation and throws the character of the grape into much sharper relief.
Sipon Furmint 2019, Sipon and Furmint being the same grape, comes out golden straw coloured, rocky and intense, with sassafras and wintergreen underneath. It stands up to Bergkäse. The Riesling 2019 is fully dry, 100% Riesling, with a craggy salt finish and a full mouthfeel.
