Côte de Nuits Villages 2020 is a natural wine crafted by La Maison Romane, in the Burgundy region in France. This red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes ,crafted by Oronce de Beler of the domaine who is based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and who buys grapes as a Negociant from talented Vignerons nearby.

How are the wines from La Maison Romane?

In the winery, only a few interventions are performed with the punching down done only in the final phase, without added sulfur, or with very low doses. The ageing of the wines last 12 months in old oak barrels. 

From the beginning, the wines of La Maison Romane were not fined, not filtered, and are manually bottled. All the vintages are waxed closed.

This Côte de Nuits Villages 2020 wine is grown specifically on the clay-limestone soils of Comblanchien.

Tasting La Maison Romane - Côte de Nuits Villages 2020

The Côte de Nuits Villages 2020 is a wonderful Pinot Noir, which is full of life thanks to its no added sulphur. We found it quite typical in its Burgundian presence, with power yet grace at the same time. Flavour wise we enjoyed notes of Black Cherries, almost in a Molasses style concentration alongside creamier aspects of vanilla and cream. Absolutely delicious and full of finesse. It's age-worthy, but ready to drink now
