Heritage 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Lammidia, in the Abruzzo region in Italy. This red wine is made with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo grapes, and is rich and tannic, so needs a caraffe or some time to rest and let the structure find balance a little bit in our opinion, but some people love very big tannins, so if you do too, this is a wine for you to open now

Production details of Heritage: Heritage is a 100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from childhood friends Davide Gentile and Marco Giuliani at Lammidia in Abruzzo, Italy. The 1-hectare vineyard sits on clay and limestone soils with vines around 25 years old. They farm using a lunar-calendar approach with no tilling. Manual harvest, wild ferment, no added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Heritage by Lammidia, but we hear it has notes of dark plum, ripe blackberry, dried herbs and a deep tannic Abruzzo structure.

NATURAL WINES BY LAMMIDIA

Lammidia is a natural wine producer located in a small village in Abruzzo, Italy, perched at 700 meters above sea level. The vineyards here use the traditional Pergola system to protect the grapes from the heat, and the result is a range of wines that are fresh, energetic, and often with a higher acidity than most. Some of their wines even embrace a touch of volatile acidity, which gives them a unique lift and makes them stand out. Childhood friends Davide and Marco have cultivated a loyal following with their bold wines that balance acidity beautifully.
Some of their fan favorites include Panda, Bianchetto, Rosso Carbo, and Frekt.
