Monastero Trappiste Vitorchiano | Wines by nuns
Monastero Trappiste Vitorchiano is an interesting natural wine estate from the Lazio region in Italy, because the wines are made in a monastery of Cistercian Trappiste and the nuns help with the harvest! Giampiero Bea is the winemaker in charge of making the wines which are using old vines on a 5 hectares plot, close to Rome. The nuns also make marmalade and jams.
The production only has a few different wines, a white and a red: Coenobium and Ruscum.
