Touriga Franca
Touriga Franca is a highly esteemed grape variety that is primarily grown in the Douro region of Portugal. It is also cultivated in other regions of Portugal, such as the Dão and Bairrada, as well as in the neighboring country of Spain.
It is often blended with other grape varieties, such as Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz.
Touriga Franca grapes have thick skins, which contribute to their deep color and high tannin levels. The wines produced from this grape are characterized by their intense aromas of black fruits, such as blackberries and black cherries, as well as floral notes and hints of spice.
