Prunecchio 2024 is a natural wine crafted by Fattoria di Sammontana, in the Tuscany region in Italy. This white wine is made with Sauvignon Blanc, Trebbiano Toscano and Malvasia  grapes, and the name comes from an old vineyard planted on a historic part of the estate, called Prunecchio

We have not yet tried this wine but hear it is bursting with notes of quince, yellow plums, a hint of gooseberry, and meadow flowers

About Fattoria di Sammontana

Fattoria di Sammontan a farm working closely with nature, located in Montelupo Fiorentino, along the Arno valley, just 20 Km. from Florence. They tend about 13 hectares of vineyards and more than 3,000 olive trees, planted between 70 and 150 meters above sea level. The soil is alluvial, and as such is full of stones, gravel, and pebbles of various sizes that are technically referred to as “skeletons”.  They say this soil, usually defined as “ungrateful”, is the one that gives character and personality to their wines.
