Rufo 23 is a natural wine crafted by Matassa, in the Roussillon region in France. This orange wine is made with Macabeu grapes, and we hear it's mineralic yet floral, energetic and also refined. ONE PER ORDER

How is Rufo by Matassa made?

This new wine Rufo is made with half of the wine directly pressed (so clear juice) and half of it macerated on their own Macabeu skins for a total of 4 days. This technique is sometimes called a Trompette. The wine ages in a mix of old Tonneau barrels and cement tanks, and like all Matassa wines, sees no addition of sulphites at any stage.

NATURAL WINES BY MATASSA

Domaine Matassa is the natural wine estate of Tom Lubbe, who is based in Roussillon, at the Southern tip of France close to Spain. Matassa is one of the most in-demand wineries in the natural wine scene, which stems largely from their approachable drinkability and high quality expressions of local grapes in their vineyards.
