Côte de Brouilly 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Clos Bateau, in the Beaujolais region in France. This red wine is made with 100% Gamay grapes, and sourced from a high up parcel on the Cote de Brouilly.
This beautiful, smooth red wine which has very delicate yet present tannins offers a memory of black forest gateau, with luscious dark cherries & cacao prominent! So damn tasty!
A hint of real vanilla creeps in and there is a rustic element on the nose that with a mild vegetal touch keeps it a bit wild. Absolutely delicious
About Côte de Brouilly from Clos Bateau
Since we’ve made a Côte de Brouilly in 2020 we kept dreaming about a new opportunity for this cuvee. In 2023 the grapes were harvested at the lieu-dit Le Poyebade. The vineyard lays on the west side of the mountain Brouilly with the height of 370m, which is quite impressive. The lieu-dit Poyebade is in appellation of Cote de Brouilly. Because of the location the vineyard is only having sun during the afternoon, this is why there is such a great mix of ripeness and freshness at the same time. After a maceration of almost 2 weeks we pressed this cuvee and later on we aged the wine on used Burgundy barrels for 10 months.
Production of just 2080 bottles
