How does Kaledioscope by Herzanovi taste?

This orange wine is made with Pálava, Riesling and Sylvaner grapes, and we found it to have a lovely mineralic touch after bursts of sour Mandarin hits and soft herbs like Thyme. Watch the quick instagram review here

More information on this wine

Pálava (a cross of Gewürztraminer and Müller-Thurgau) and Riesling went through a long maceration while Sylvaner was on skins only for a few days. This blend and different skin-contact duration results in a kaleidoscope of aroma and flavour. Dried apricot, white tea, rosemary, propolis…to name a few! Complex but fresh. Great on its own, even better with food. Totally recommend trying it with hard cheese and green olives. Serve chilled.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

WHAT IS ORANGE WINE?

Orange wines are actually white wines, but with a different winemaking process - they’re made by fermenting the juice with the grape skins, which is mostly done with red wines, not white. This extra step adds tannins, flavor, and a unique color to the wine.
Because of the skin contact, orange wines tend to have more herbal, aromatic notes, and they can also have a bit of bitterness depending on the grape, how long the skins are left in contact with the juice, and the vessel used for maturation. Unlike most white wines, they can also feature tannins (which are formed from the skins, which white wines do not use). Orange wines are a style that brings out some really interesting flavors that many people adore for their unique properties, whether easy going or complex.
