Hey Gros! is a super light, 9.5% natural red wine crafted by cult wine producer François Saint-Lô, in the Loire region in France.

This red wine is made with Grolleau grapes, and has a beautiful drinkability - almost like a Rosé it's so light but still has that distinctive Grolleau, peppery taste and a wonderful energy on the palate.

Who is François Saint-Lô?

François Saint-Lô is somewhat of a cult winemaker.  The village of Berrie, where he works is located close to Saumur. Sporting dreadlocks and a relaxed attitude, he is seemingly part of a collective that is restoring life to an otherwise ghost village. His zero-zero wines have become a big hit in the natural wine scene, and often sell out fast.

François mostly rents his vineyards, but tend to them all himself, with the help of two horses. He works in a limestone cellar, traditional to the region and keeping the climate very stable. He prefers long elevage, allowing the wine to really sit and develop more complexities with wines often aging 3 years in barrel.

NATURAL WINES BY FRANCOIS SAINT LO

François Saint-Lô is a standout figure in Loire Valley winemaking, known for his vibrant, energetic wines like Les Palennes and Hey Gro! He works with classic Loire grapes including Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, Chenin Blanc, and Pineau d'Aunis.
Based in the village of Berrie near Saumur, François brings a relaxed, down-to-earth vibe to his winemaking, and he’s part of a movement helping to breathe life back into this once-declining village. With just 4.5 hectares under his care, François’ wines are highly sought after and can be hard to find, so if you see them, don't wait!
François works the vineyards all by himself, aided by two trusty horses. He crafts his wines in a limestone cellar, a traditional choice for the region, where the stable environment helps the wines develop with time. His wines often undergo a long elevage, maturing for up to three years in barrel to develop deeper complexity.
