Pinot Gris - The Pink Skinned Grape

Pinot Gris (also known as Pinot Grigio or Grauburgunder) is grown around the world, with the spicy, full-bodied version from Alsace as well as the lighter-bodied, more acidic Italian style being widely recognised. The hue of Pinot Gris wines can vary from golden ýellow to light pink, and it's a common grape to use for skin-contact wines, where the colour can vary to be a unique shade inbetween a Rosè and an Orange wine. Popular natural wine producers of Pinot Gris are often found in Alsace and include Les Vins Pirouettes, Pierre Frick, Jean-Marc Dreyer, Christian Binner, Patrick Meyer and Müller-Koeberle.
