Tradition 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Antony Tortul of La Sorga, in the Languedoc region in France. This red wine is made with Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Blanc a Petit Grain and Muscat d'Alexandrie grapes.
This unique wine features a slightly inky profile with some grippy tannins and good structure. Interestingly, it also features a slight minty note for a red wine (with white as well) in addition to cherry juice, blackcurrants, elderflowers and a touch of grenadine. A touch of smoke and blood orange can also be found after a little air.
Terroir: Calcareous sand in Carcassonne, clay-limestone in Marseillan (Thau Basin), Vin de France.
Grape varieties: Merlot (47 years old) 50%, Sauvignon Blanc (24 years old) 40%, Muscat Petit Grain and Muscat of Alexandria 10%; yield: 33 hl/ha.
Vinification: “Three-phase” maceration (a blend of press juice, manually destemmed, and whole clusters depending on health and ripeness of the grapes) in tank for 42 days, then aged in tank for 8 months.
